Rise Of The Tomb Raider Low UK Sales

Rise of The Tomb Raider failed to get more sales and according to Sony's senior product manager Chris Brown, it has something to do with the poor releasing time of Microsoft. However, Driveclub's game director Paul Rustchynsky hinted that when the game releases on PS4 next year, it will do "just fine."

Fallout 4 and Rise of The Tomb Raider on Xbox One released on the same day but the sales of Rise of The Tomb Raider are much less as compared to Fallout 4 in UK. The latest installment only managed to sale 63000 copies in UK on Xbox One.

Chris Brown thinks that the poor sales are due to the same release day as Fallout 4. He also thinks that as many big titles like Halo 5, Black Ops 3, and Star Wars Battlefront are being or have been released, players are looking at their wallets first.

As the game will be releasing next year on PS4 too, the game director of Driveclub poured more salt by saying that the game "will do just fine"a next year on PS4.

Dragon Quest Heroes Might Come to Steam

Dragon Quest Heroes, a game only available on PlayStation, could be coming to Steam. Last week, a pop-up ad linking to a broken page appeared in Steam client for brief period. Screenshot of ad can be seen below.

PC players would not know much about the game but its reviews are quite promising. Most reviews mention it as a RPG game with combo-driven Dynasty Warriors Suit.

Although, it's not confirm but official announcement will be made soon enough. Though, game is enjoyable on consoles.

The Game Awards 2015 Nominations

The Game Awards which debuted last year are being produced again this year by Geoff Keighley. This time it promises more games and less hype than last year and nominees are being selected by a jury of 32 members who are from "international media."

The thing which makes the Game Awards different from Video Game Awards (VGA) is that it doesn't categorize games according to platform which created a situation like BioShock Infinite was nominated for Game of the Year and best Xbox game but wasn't nominated for PC category. Each category here includes exclusive games from different platforms.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is leading by seven nominations and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is following with five nomination. Both are included in the nominees for Game of the Year along with Bloodborne, Fallout 4, and Super Mario Maker.

This time, the show is also including three categories of esports which will be chosen by fans. The categories are: Esports game of the year, player of the year and team of the year while the nominees are: Evil Geniuses, Fnatic, Optic Gaming, SK Telecom T1, and Team Solomid.

The Game Awards 2015 will go live on December 3 and live stream will be available on Twitch, YouTube, Steam, and other sites with good streaming.

Fallout 4 DLC Expected Soon

Todd Howard(Bethesda's game director) has been teasing Fallout 4 DLC since it was launched.

Back in September Bethesda promised to provide the audience with the downloadable content for Fallout 4 that includes every feature that Bethesda has made for the game.

In a recent interview Howard said:

"We've always done a lot of DLC for our games. We love making them and you always ask us for more. To reward our most loyal fans, this time we'll be offering a Season Pass that will get you all of the Fallout 4 DLC we ever do for just $30."

Its been confirmed by his word,yet there is a still Question mark on what will be included in the downloadable content.

During Red carpet event Todd Howard said:

"We have a bunch coming next year. This game is huge, but it’s not just this launch. It’s going to be well deep into next year."

He further mentioned that "you cannot say the game is done until everybody plays it and its not done yet".

Bethesda is still looking for public feedback as they have delivered content that a true game lover wants.

“What they bring to it is important, and then we’re going to see what people like, what they want more of, what they want different, and then we’re going to do that. Our fans are amazing. They’re super smart. And this is as important to them as it is to us.” Howard stated.

On November 10, Fallout 4 released for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

System Shock Remake In Progress

System Shock is going to get a remake as the developer Night Dive Studios is working on it which will be well beyond the enhanced version of the game.

The developer gets the rights to the classic titles which are no longer available since 2013 and then re-releases by updating these titles to work with the modern hardware.

Night Dive re-released System Shock 2 first on GoG.com and then on Steam. In September this year, they released an enhanced version of the original game from 1994 which was developed by Looking Glass Technologies and produced by Deus Ex designer Warren Spector. System Shock caused an amazing influence on sci-fi shooters, Bioshock is one of many.

"The benchmark for intelligent first-person gaming. Kick-starting the revolution which would go on to give the world Deus Ex and which has influenced the design of countless other games", said Eurogamer back in 2007.

In an interview with Fastcompany, Night Dive said that they are working on a full remake of original game and they have acquired full rights. Stephen Kick, the founder of Night Dive is working with original concept artist of the game to know about the 1990's design.

The studio is also planning a console version of the game which will be their first. Kick also teased a possible System Shock 3 but that will require a bigger publisher.

Unreal Tournament CTF Map Making Is Harder Than It Looks

Epic Games, the developer of Unreal Tournament released the behind-the-scenes videos showing the work needed to create a level in the upcoming free-to-play FPS.

First video was uploaded in September which showed the early stages of the development of CTF Outside and the map now has official name which is Titan Pass. At this stage, the map only has simple color and no art assets. The second video shows how they transformed it into a proper in-game look focusing on texture, lighting, detail and playability.

Third video which released just this month is about testing and tweaking to see if everything works or not. Now, this step obviously involves a deep and detailed attention to every aspect of the game. The one thing which is to be considered more is that map's dimensions doesn't mess up with the addition of new layers.

Senior Level Designer Sidney Rauchberger said, "We're definitely not done with it. Since we're a living project, there are a ton of things that we still want to touch up on and improve. It's an evolving process."

The game is not yet complete and is in pre-alpha stage but if you don't mind that you can play that game for fun and it's also free. You can get the game at UnrealTournament.com.

Fallout 4 Tweaks

Unlocking Frame Rate

Bethesda previously claimed that the Fallout 4 will give more than 60 FPS on PC but it didn't turn out to be true as the game's frame rate is locked by default and in order to unlock it you'll have to open the file Fallout4Pref.ini located at C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\ and change iPresentInterval=1 to iPresentInterval=0 and perform the same for Fallout4.ini and make sure both the files are read only or they will be reset when the game is launched.

Changing FOV (Field of View)

The default field of view might be having some restrictions for some players. To change the FOV, you need to modify the following strings in Fallout4.ini in the following way:

Microsoft Is Sending Out Free EA Access Codes to XBL Subscribers

Some users on subreddit of Xbox One reported of getting free EA access codes for one month which make them able to play DICE's game earlier. EA Access users will be able to play from November 12 but up to 10 hours only.

You might want to check your Xbox live account as this message is received on your Xbox live account.

The cost of EA Access is $4.99 per month which gives you access to some older games like Madden 2014, FIFA 14, Peggle 2, NBA Live 15, Need for Speed Rivals, UFC, NHL 15,  Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, Madden NFL 15, Battlefield 4, FIFA 15, Titanfall, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Battlefield Hardline.

GTA V Steam Summer Sale Was "Misleading"

As always, Steam's Summer Sale kicked off this year in June including hundreds of games at exciting prices and one of them was Rockstar's best selling game GTA V but it wasn't actually available at discounted price. The publisher received some heavy criticism on misleading the customers but now it seems that Valve Corporation, the owner of Steam was the one responsible for the misleading as of the ruling against the company's Summer Sale ad by the UK's Advertising Standards Authority.

Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) of UK has upheld a customer complaint claiming that Valve Corporation advertised a "misleading" promotion of GTA V for PC version of Steam earlier this year during Summer Sale. The game was listed with the "25 percent off label", but actually the discounted price was the original base price of the game.

The normal version of the game having the price tag of £39.99 was removed from the store and then the remastered PC version was only available through advertised bundles which included Shark Cash Cards for GTA Online. Price of the bundle was £51.99 which with a 25% discount reduced to £39.98. This was enough for the ASA to put ban on the advertising.

Here's the full ruling:

We noted the claims related to the Grand Theft Auto game had appeared in error for around a three-hour period and that the item was not included in the promotion. While we acknowledged that the claims had been duplicated, and were intended to relate only to a separate product bundle, we noted the two items appeared side-by-side, which we considered consumers were likely to understand to mean that both the game and the bundle were included in the sale.

We noted the claims for the game stated that consumers could make a saving of 25% on the previous price of £51.98, which we considered would be understood to represent a genuine saving against the usual selling price of the product at the time the ad appeared. However, we understood that was not the case and it had instead been sold by Steam at £39.99, rather than £51.98, since the date of its launch. Because a 25% saving was not available on the usual selling price of the product at the time the ad appeared, as claimed, we concluded that it was misleading.

At the same time, GTA V standalone version was also listed on Steam with a price tag of £38.98 with a label of "25 percent off". In that matter, Valve responded the ASA with a reason of software error and fixed the issue within three hours. Valve might not be facing any serious consequences other than the ban on their advertisement although it is over now. ASA issued a warning that the ad must not appear again in it's current form.

Dark Souls 3 Release Date & Special Editions

According to a listing by the retailer Geekay games, Dark Souls 3 is ready to be released on April 12th.

The retailer has also listed a Prestige Edition and a Collector's Edition of the game for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Bandai Namco already confirmed a April 2016 release date during a Tokyo Game Show this year.

DARK SOULS III pushes a deeper sense of role-playing than previous iterations of the series with key additions that provide players with a set of tools and in-game options to customize their gameplay experience. Skills, a new addition to the DARK SOULS combat mechanics, adds attack modifiers to each weapon type, allowing players an increased tactical advantage in combat. Increase an axe’s attack power with War Cry or break an enemy’s guard with a quick upward swing from Ready Stance. The choice of if and when players use these added abilities is up to them. Players will also be able to equip their character with a wide variety of armor sets, medieval weaponry, as well as come across powerful sorceries and miracles as they develop their own personal style of play.

The Prestige Edition of the game comes with a Collector's Box, Metal Case, 3 Iron-on patches, soundtrack, a cloth game map, an a4 hardcover artbook and a 40cm  Lord of Cinder figurine and obviously the game. The cost of the Prestige Edition is $489.86 according to the listing.

Similar to the Prestige Edition, the Collector's Edition includes everything as in Prestige Edition but instead of Lord of Cinder figurine it includes a 25cm Red Knight figurine and according to the listing, it will cost you around $135.
